When we look at our hotline logs we see lots of support-calls that come in because of: -layouts that are to complicated for beginners. -lawn is not established, ground to soft to much sand …..lawn to patchy. -mower goes astray because front wheel is blocked with clippings and dirt. ….. Please get to know your mower first before you tackle all the challenges of your lawn.

-irrigation and waterlines in your garden -power for lights and powerlines plus power-supply for charging station -areas that will flood or build puddles when heavy rain falls -obstacle like tree-stumps or rocks which the mower can climb -garden furniture where the mower can get tangled up -dog bones, branches of trees, toys and anything you would pickup when mowing with a normal mower -any lawn edge that is changing with the seasons is a problem (agapanthus or other plants will grow into the path of mower) -any lawn edge that has bumps and holes will send your mower astray -any step-up from lawn to pavers or concrete areas -unstable power-supply (use UPS) -because of the harsh sun and rain we need hut or rain cover in New Zealand

-select an easy part of your lawn and learn what your mower does and how to program your robot mower -install your virtual wire on top of your lawn with pegs. (first cut strip around edge of lawn really short so wire is close to ground) -find the perfect spot for the charging-station make sure it is 100% level and on hard ground and has straight 2m level run into station (maybe on pavers and the virtual-wire is placed exactly on the arrow) if you stand in the centre lawn make sure mower goes clockwise into charger. -find out if you have to change your garden-design to overcome areas the mower can't mow -any corners less then 90 degrees are a challenge -any piece of lawn less then 2m wide are a challenge -your mower can climb 30˚ hills and turn, but not descend slopes and turn (it will slip if the lawn is wet and go past your wire) -if your lawn has to be divided into areas make sure your design will work -do make sure to place wire 40cm from any object like house wall or fence you can always shift wire closer. (but it will work ?) -do make sure that there is no right-angle corner!!!! always have a radius of 20 cm (or use install guide for virtual wire out of Manual)
